Upcoming speaker

CNSC speaker – Paul McClelland

The CNSC Speaker Series is pleased to welcome Paul McClelland, Director of Waste Management and Technical Support at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), to give a presentation titled "Lessons Learned From ARTEMIS Peer Review Mission to France".

Mr. McClelland’s presentation will take place:
Thursday, August 30, 2018
1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
Room 14-032, 280 Slater Street
Ottawa, Ontario

Mr. McClelland will share his recent experience participating in the IAEA-sponsored ARTEMIS peer review mission of France’s radioactive waste management program. He will provide details of what an ARTEMIS peer review is and how it is structured. He will also share the results of this mission for France, along with an extrapolation of how Canada might perform if an ARTEMIS review were undertaken in Canada.

Mr. McClelland has over 27 years of experience almost evenly split between operations of nuclear facilities and radioactive waste management. He is currently providing primary waste management technical oversight for the performance of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories in executing their agreements with AECL.
