Administrative monetary penalty issued to Canadian Forest Products Ltd. (Canfor Pulp Ltd.)

On December 21, 2023, the CNSC issued an administrative monetary penalty (AMP) of $2,000 to Canadian Forest Products Ltd. (Canfor Pulp Ltd.). Canfor Pulp Ltd. holds a CNSC licence authorizing the possession, transfer, import, use and storage of fixed nuclear gauges. The AMP was issued as a result of Canfor Pulp Ltd. permitting workers to enter a vessel equipped with fixed nuclear gauges without properly ensuring that the gauges had been made safe.

The AMP is an enforcement tool used by the CNSC to promote compliance and to prevent the issue from recurring.
