Order issued to Carmeuse Lime (Canada) Limited

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) issued an order on February 14, 2023, to Carmeuse Lime (Canada) Limited. The company holds a CNSC licence for the possession, transfer, import, use and storage of fixed gauges and is based in Ingersoll, Ontario.

The order prohibits the licensee from performing shutter lockouts on radiation devices, and from entering into any vessels or hoppers fitted with radiation devices. This order is effectiveuntil the licensee can demonstrate, to the CNSC’s satisfaction, that it has proper procedures and documentation in place for these activities and that all workers involved in these activities have received current and documented training on these procedures. The order was issued during a routine inspection in Ingersoll, Ontario.
