The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) issued an order on November 15, 2023, to Impala Canada Ltd. The company, based in Toronto, Ontario, holds a CNSC licence for the possession, transfer, use and storage of fixed nuclear gauges.

The order was issued following a routine inspection at the licensee's location in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The order requires the licensee to cease entry into vessels fitted with radiation devices authorized by the licence until it has demonstrated, to the CNSC's satisfaction, adequate management oversight over vessel entry activities.
