The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) issued an order on August 15, 2024, to Metro Testing & Engineering Ltd. The company holds a licence for the possession, transfer, use and storage of portable nuclear gauges and is based in Burnaby, British Columbia.
The order was issued during an unannounced field inspection in Burnaby, BC. The order prohibits a worker from using the portable nuclear gauges listed on the licence until the licensee can demonstrate, to the CNSC’s satisfaction, that this worker has been properly trained and can work safely and securely.
