Order issued to PrairieGeo Engineering Ltd.

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) issued an order on February 27, 2023, to PrairieGeo Engineering Ltd. The company holds a CNSC licence for the possession, transfer, use and storage of portable nuclear gauges and is based in Calgary, Alberta.

The order, which was issued during a routine inspection in Calgary, Alberta, requires the licensee to cease all use and transport of radiation devices and to immediately place all gauges into secure storage. This order will remain in effect until the licensee demonstrates to the CNSC that it has implemented an effective radiation protection program and that it has corrected all items of non-compliance identified in the inspection report.
