Summary
REGDOC-1.2.1, Guidance on Deep Geological Repository Site Characterization, sets out guidance for the site characterization stage of the siting process for a deep geological repository facility for radioactive waste, as information gathered for site characterization may be used in subsequent licence applications.
This document supersedes R-72, Geological Considerations in Siting a Repository for Underground Disposal of High-Level Radioactive Waste, published in September 1987.
