Summary

REGDOC-2.5.5, Design of Radiography Installations, was developed to provide guidance to persons intending to design and construct installations for the purposes of performing industrial radiography. Industrial radiography is a non-destructive method of looking for defects in materials by examining the structures of welds, castings, and building components. A radiography installation is any shielded enclosure, cell or vault where radiography is performed. These installations can be very effective in preventing or minimizing radiation doses to both operators and persons in the vicinity of the radiography work.
