Summary
This document sets out requirements and guidance for the appropriate and proactive management of aging in the different phases of a nuclear power plant’s lifecycle. This document provides a framework within which codes and standards can be applied so that physical aging and obsolescence of structures, systems and components are effectively managed.
This document focuses on licensees’ management of the aging of structures, systems and components of a nuclear power plant, and is part of the Fitness for Service series of the CNSC’s regulatory framework. The other documents in this series are RD/GD-98 Reliability Programs for Nuclear Power Plants, and RD/GD-210, Maintenance Programs for Nuclear Power Plants, both published in 2012.
