Abstract

Nuclear power plant licensees are required to submit an annual fuel performance report to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) pursuant to Regulatory Standard S-99, clause 6.4.10. This paper summarises how the information in the annual Fuel performance report is used by CNSC staff to provide an assessment of fuel performance and licensing compliance, the results of which are used as input into the annual CNSC Staff Integrated Safety Assessment of Canadian Nuclear Power Plants. Lastly, possible changes and improvements aimed at simultaneously enhancing and streamlining the current reporting template are discussed.
