Nuclear facility – Port Hope Project
Part of the Port Hope Area Initiative, the Port Hope Project is designed to remediate and move waste from the Welcome Waste Management Facility, residential and commercial sites containing historic low-level radioactive waste, and industrial waste from the local municipality. Waste that is moved is brought to a new, engineered above-ground mound on the same site as the Welcome Facility.
